Awards Night at Savvy Southern Sisters

What a wonderful meeting this evening with my Stampin' Up! Family! My upline group Savvy Southern Sisters meets every couple of months for fellowship, business tips, creative conversation, and future planning. It is always a wonderful time getting together. This evening was awards night and I am pleased to share that I was given four awards and gifts this evening!  I truly must thank these wonderful ladies though, particulary my upline Michelle who continues to inspire me to keep reaching for new goals and trying new things.

#11 in the Baker's Dozen

I am really enjoying the Ornament Keepsake Stamp set (and bundle!). Not only do I love the basic ornament shapes, but the detail on the stamps is just beautiful! I think you could just keep a simple white card base, stamp the ornament and sentiment and it would still be stunning. Hmmm.... gotta go run and try that now!  Stay tuned for the last two in the Baker's Dozen!

Number Nine Number Nine

Have you seen the stampable cotton ribbon on page 20 of the Holiday Catalog??? Go look! (then come back here) Yes, the ribbon here has been stamped, I just love this ribbon. Stamp patterns, words, flowers, you name it. It's just like having your own ribbon design shop, make it any color and design you want!

Jazz it up by adding the Border Banter stamp set shown below.

Oh.... the Holidays are going to be soooooo much fun this year!!!

Baker's Dozen #8

For some reason, this one makes me think of an old fashioned Christmas.... perhaps the lace border, or the pattern on the paper. Whatever it is, I really enjoy it. Maybe it is the Noel stamp on the ornament.  The ornament was made using the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and matching framelits. The stamp is part of the Greeting of the Season stamp set featured on page 8 of the Holiday catalog.

I hope you are enjoying this series - we only have a few left to do!

Subtle #7 in the Baker's Dozen

When I first saw the design for this card, I was thinking Eh! it's okay.... but when I saw the finished product - it went wow! The embossing on the base cardstock really makes this simple yet elegant. I hope you take a moment and just try it, and hopefully you will be as pleasantly surprised as I was. The Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder is one of my favorites. You can find it on page 189 of the Annual Catalog.

#6 in the Baker's Dozen

This one keeps it really simple - but with the rich colors of the Candlight Christmas Designer Series paper, Real Red 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain ribbon and beautiful stamp from the Greetings of the Season set, the card comes together wonderfully.  I love the Baker's Dozen idea because you use all of the 12x12 paper with no waste. But I also love that you can whip up so many cards in such a short time period with this template! As busy as everyone is, it is nice to feel like you can accomplish a lot in a little time.

Baker's Dozen #5

There are so many ways to use the Holiday Ornaments Framelit Dies. Yes, it is wonderful to use them bundled with the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set, but here I just enjoyed the shape and stamped it with the word Noel.  I then added a little ribbon to the ornament and a strip of embossed card stock for a little more dimension on the card.

I hope you are enjoying the Baker's Dozen series. This truly is a great way to stock up on your cards so you always have one ready when you need it!

Here's #4 in the Baker's Dozen!

I am really enjoying the colors of the Candelight Christmas Designer Series paper. They are just so rich and warm!  Here, the simple lines of the card are spruced up a little with the ruffled ribbon in Lucky Limeade.  The stamp is from the Greetings of the Season stamp set on page 8 of the Holiday catalog.  If you haven't received a catalog yet, contact me to get one.

#3 in the Baker's Dozen

I admit I just love this one! The Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper has such rich wonderful colors to work with.  The base card for this is Early Espresso. To change the card around, you could add the sentiment in the middle of the card. Since I am doing a Christmas theme, I decided to add the tree from the Scentsational Season Stamp set (pg 16 in the Holiday catalog). Yes, this is another set in the catalog that you can bundle with the framelit dies. It truly does make special embellishments so easy!

Baker's Dozen #2

Here is card number two for the Baker's Dozen series!  Use your piece of Designer Series paper, add a simple border at the bottom. And then add a punch for your sentiment.  I had a blast doing this because I was also playing with the new Ornament Keepsakes stamp set along with the framelits dies that go with them.  How much fun!

Don't forget - that Stampin' Up! is offering savings of 15% when you bundle your stampset with the framelits!

Bakers Dozen

Join me while I share with you the Baker's Dozen. I will show you a way to take just one sheet of 12x12 Designer Series Paper and make 13 cards. You will use the entire page in the end with no leftover scraps.

For this series, I will be using the Candlight Christmas Designer Series Paper for all the cards. This is a wonderful item in the new holiday catalog.

To that I have added cardstock in Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Primrose Petals, and Very Vanilla.  You can use just one or two colors to keep it even simpler - I used more just to be able to show you more options.

To start - use the following grid to cut out your 12x12 paper. Then keep checking back for the next card posting to see how the pieces work on the card.
This is a lot of fun and an easy way to make a bunch of cards in one sitting!  Stay tuned for all thirteen cards. You can always duplicate the grid and play along with me :o)
